Al-Ma'idah (5):44 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
Verily, We did send down the Taurāt (Torah) [to Mūsa (Moses)], therein was guidance and light, by which the Prophets, who submitted themselves to Allāh's Will, judged the Jews. And the rabbis and the priests [too judged the Jews by the Taurāt (Torah) after those Prophets] for to them was entrusted the protection of Allāh's Book, and they were witnesses thereto. Therefore fear not men but fear Me (O Jews) and sell not My Verses for a miserable price. And whosoever does not judge by what Allāh has revealed, such are the Kāfirūn (i.e. disbelievers - of a lesser degree as they do not act on Allāh's Laws).
Al-Ma'idah (5):46 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
And in their footsteps, We sent 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), confirming the Taurāt (Torah) that had come before him, and We gave him the Injeel (Gospel), in which was guidance and light and confirmation of the Taurāt (Torah) that had come before it, a guidance and an admonition for Al-Muttaqūn (the pious - see V.2:2).
Al-An'am (6):91 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
They (the Jews, Quraish pagans, idolaters, etc.) did not estimate Allāh with an estimation due to Him when they said: "Nothing did Allāh send down to any human being (by inspiration)." Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Who then sent down the Book which Mūsa (Moses) brought, a light and a guidance to mankind which you (the Jews) have made into (separate) papersheets, disclosing (some of it) and concealing (much). And you (believers in Allāh and His Messenger Muhammad SAW), were taught (through the Qur'ān) that which neither you nor your fathers knew." Say: "Allāh (sent it down)." Then leave them to play in their vain discussions. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubī, Vol.7, Page 37).
Al-An'am (6):122 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
Is he who was dead (without Faith by ignorance and disbelief) and We gave him life (by knowledge and Faith) and set for him a light (of Belief) whereby he can walk amongst men, like him who is in the darkness (of disbelief, polytheism and hypocrisy) from which he can never come out? Thus it is made fairseeming to the disbelievers that which they used to do.
Al-A'raf (7):157 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e.Muhammad SAW) whom they find written with them in the Taurāt (Torah) (Deut, xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16), - he commands them for Al-Ma'rūf (i.e. Islāmic Monotheism and all that Islām has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islām has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibāt [(i.e. all good and lawful) as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.], and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khabā'ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allāh's Covenant), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad SAW), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur'ān) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful.
Ibrahim (14):1 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
Alif-Lām-Rā. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ān, and none but Allāh (Alone) knows their meanings]. (This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad SAW) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allāh and Islāmic Monotheism) by their Lord's Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise.
Ibrahim (14):5 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
And indeed We sent Mūsa (Moses) with Our Ayāt (signs, proofs, and evidences) (saying): "Bring out your people from darkness into light, and make them remember the annals of Allāh. Truly, therein are evidences, proofs and signs for every patient, thankful (person)."
Al-Anbiya (21):48 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
And indeed We granted to Mūsa (Moses) and Hārūn (Aaron) the criterion (of right and wrong), and a shining light [i.e. the Taurāt (Torah)] and a Reminder for Al-Muttaqūn (the pious - see V.2:2).
Al-Hajj (22):8 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
And among men is he who disputes about Allāh, without knowledge or guidance, or a Book giving light (from Allāh),
Fatir (35):25 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
And if they belie you, those before them also belied. Their Messengers came to them with clear signs, and with the Scriptures, and the book giving light.
Az-Zumar (39):22 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
Is he whose breast Allāh has opened to Islām, so that he is in light from His Lord (as he who is non-Muslim)? So, woe to those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allāh! They are in plain error!
Ash-Shura (42):52 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad SAW) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur'ān) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allāh's religion of Islāmic Monotheism).
Al-Hadid (57):9 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
It is He Who sends down manifest Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to His slave (Muhammad SAW) that He may bring you out from darkness into light. And verily, Allāh is to you full of kindness, Most Merciful.
Al-Hadid (57):12 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
On the Day you shall see the believing men and the believing women their light running forward before them and by their right hands. Glad tidings for you this Day! Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever! Truly, this is the great success!
Al-Hadid (57):19 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
And those who believe in (the Oneness of) Allāh and His Messengers, they are the Siddiqūn (i.e. those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them), and the martyrs with their Lord, they shall have their reward and their light. But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allāh - Islāmic Monotheism) and deny Our Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they shall be the dwellers of the blazing Fire.
Al-Hadid (57):28 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
O you who believe [in Mūsa (Moses) (i.e. Jews) and 'Iesa (Jesus) (i.e. Christians)]! Fear Allāh, and believe too in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), He will give you a double portion of His Mercy, and He will give you a light by which you shall walk (straight), and He will forgive you. And Allāh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
At-Taghabun (64):8 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
Therefore, believe in Allāh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and in the Light (this Qur'ān) which We have sent down. And Allāh is All-Aware of what you do.
At-Tahrim (66):8 [Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]   Arabic
O you who believe! Turn to Allāh with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allāh will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who believe with him, their Light will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirāt (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things."
